Football season is finally here again!  Are you a football fanatic, wearing your teams colors, never missing a game, and hosting a Super Bowl party every year?  Or do you only watch the game for a few minutes(if it's on), not understand the rules of it, and aren't aware of who in the world all of the players are?  Regardless of which of those people you tend to be during football season, here are 10 fun facts about the NFL to get you excited for it.

1. Head coaches Pete Carroll (Seattle Seahawks) and Sean Payton (New Orleans Saints) are both paid around $8,000,000 a year, which is the highest head coach payment in the NFL.

2. The Green Bay Packers won the first ever Super Bowl, which was in 1967.

3. If you signed up for the Green Bay Packers season ticket list today, it would take around 1,000 years to get your tickets! 

4. The New England Patriots were almost named the Bay State Patriots.

5. Wilson, the exclusive maker of NFL footballs since 1941, produces about 4,000 footballs a day.

6. The total audience for the first televised football game in 1939 was 500 people.  That is about 112,200,500 less than the number of people that watched last years Super Bowl. 

7. Peyton Manning and Brett Favre are currently the only NFL quarterbacks that have beaten all 32 teams in the NFL.

8. In the 2017 NFL playoffs, kickers had been perfect (34-34) on their field goals.

9. Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions) is currently the highest paid quarterback in the NFL.  His new deal is $135 million dollars over 5 years!

10. During the 2014 NFL season, Microsoft and the NFL struck a 5-year, $400 million deal to use Microsoft Surface as the “the official tablet of the NFL”, but the announcers kept calling them iPads.
