10 Ways to Beat the Heat

Posted by Holly Simonsen

Although summer is slowly ending, the heat isn't!  As we progress into early fall, the weather is going to be hotter than it was at the beginning of the summer.  And as great as it is to have sunshine, sometimes it's a little bit too much.  Here are 10 different ways that you can beat this late summer heat.

-

1. Stay Hydrated!

First things first! If you're planning on being out in the sun all day, it's important to stay hydrated.

Your energy will drain faster if your body is not getting the needed amount of water.

By having water handy at all times, you can stay out longer in the sunshine and not become dehydrated!

2. Keep Cool at Night!

We all understand that it's very hard to sleep at night when you're overheated or too hot in general.

During the summer, if you're someone who does not have air conditioning or simply gets hot too easily, you

are about to discover different ways in which you can make sure you get a good, COOL nights sleep this hot

summer.

3. Frozen Towels!

This is one of my all-time favorite ways to stay cool in the heat.

Especially after exercising and running around, the frozen towels are a must.

Frozen Towels

All you need to do is:

1. Take a couple of wash cloths and soak them in water.

2. Squeeze out the excess water and roll them.

3. Lay the towel rolls on a cookie sheet and place them in the freezer.

4. Let the towels freeze for a couple hours until they are solid.

(you can also add essential oils to the mix if you're looking for something more relaxing ;) )

TIP: Do these overnight, so that they are ready the next morning.  Even if you aren't sure if you're going to need them, it's nice to have them just in case.
